FIRST MATCH-UPS REVEALED - ESL PRO LEAGUE TO BE PLAYED ONLINE

Astralis league partner ESL Pro League has revealed the first matches and prize pool for the initial group stage of Season XI. Astralis will play Ninjas in Pyjamas first on March 16.

On Wednesday, March 11, ESL announced that the entirety of ESL Pro League XI will be played online due to health concerns for players, staff, and audience. This is a decision that Astralis fully supports.

IEM Katowice played out without an audience but broke viewership records so both our organization and ESL take solace in the fact that the Counter-Strike community is built by passionate fans who will support the sport, live attendance or not.

Astralis' Head Coach, Danny 'zonic' Sørensen comments on the match-ups and situation.

"It's a tough situation, but I think ESL has done everything right and I know all teams and players will do their utmost to deliver some great matches" - Danny 'zonic' Sørensen.

- After our exit from IEM Katowice, we’ve been eager to get back in the action. We lost our top spot in the world rankings to NAVI and there’s not much else to say except they deserve it. We made a lot of progress from BLAST Premier to IEM Katowice but NAVI was on another level in that tournament. We’ve been working hard since to get back in shape since and analyzed our games thoroughly. We want that top spot back.

- But if we want a rematch against NAVI there are a number of great teams we have to beat first. Our first match against NiP will be the first test. And then there’s Vitality and ZywOo which we know first hand is a big hurdle to get over. GODSENT and Sharks are two teams we haven’t played much against and that can be as dangerous as any top team since we don’t have a lot of data to fall back on.

- It's a tough situation, but I think ESL has done everything right and I know all teams and players will do their utmost to deliver some great matches.
